Enhance, Improve and Simplify Compound ID

The DiscovIR-LC™ is the perfect solution for the routine identification of components in complex mixtures. Enhanced resolution, solid-phase, infrared spectra, provide each compound’s unique fingerprint, making it quick and easy to unambiguously identify components, by comparison to extensive solid-phase FTIR libraries. The DiscovIR-LC™ is particularly useful in identifying positional, structural and diastereo- isomers, which can be challenging by Mass Spectrometry.

Combining the DiscovIR-LC™ with Mass Spectrometry, provides a powerful tool for unknowns identification; the combination of mass spectral (elemental composition and MS/MS fragmentation) data and structural information from the infrared spectra, can be used to shortlist potential structures, prior to purchasing standards, or for confirmatory synthesis.

Delivering routine, structurally informative, spectra within the LC runtime, the DiscovIR-LC™ provides a pre-screen for, or even an affordable alternative to LC-NMR. The enhanced information, from parallel FTIR and mass spectrometry, can reduce the need for fraction collection, extraction or purification of components from complex mixtures. Furthermore, FTIR may be used for functional group screening/monitoring using selective detection of band chromatograms.

The DiscovIR-LC™ is compatible with all common HPLC mobile phases and (volatile) buffers and offers near-universal organics detection without ion-suppression.
